This is the correct code for the S and I (like i960) series of printers http://canonresetter.co.cc (M series below this)
1) Power off printer
2) Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER. (The beeper MAY sound once, or may not depending on your model .
3) Hold POWER and Release RESUME.
4) Press RESUME twice then release both POWER and RESUME buttons.
5) When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME 4 times (for the S900, 3 times for the 8200 apparently).
6) Press power to set data.
7) Print away!
For other codes for other printers and more info go here to this big forum (but try the above first) Fix Your Own Printer Generally many of Canon's models use exactly this same code, the i models use the same code, all the s models use the same code.

Canon PIXMA MP800 Error 6A00
-Remove a piece of paper that was stuck in the printer
-pushed down on sponges
-moved ink cartridge holder back and forth several times
-unplug printer completely
-removed all the ink cartridges and put them back
The Problem
1. The print head cartridge keeps locking itself up on the right hand side.
2. Frequent 5100 errors even when the printer is on standby
3. Even when I wipe up the print cartridge, the next print will mess up the bottom of the print cartridge with ink again.
here step to fix steps:
1. Opening the cover and wait for ink carriage to center
2. Pull out power cord
3. Pushed carriage to far left (should slide easily)
4. Used paper towel and wiped purge unit a lot of times (press down to soak paper towel with ink). Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.
5. Used diluted napisan (oxygen-based cleaning agent in the ratio of 1:3 with powder:water) and soaked paper towel
6. Repeat step 4 with wet paper towel. Repeat until purge unit is near-white.
7. Pulled and pushed clear plastic wiper (north of purge unit) and wiped it down
8. Slided carriage back to original position
9. Removed Print head cartridge and wiped out excess ink stuck on bottom.
10. Plugged power back on.
